Sustainable Integrated Farming is a practice that is the result of the combination of agriculture and aquaculture systems to remediate waste streams, increase the quality and quantity of yields, and reduce costs associated with production. Integrated Multi Trophic Aquaculture utilizes waste streams from one aquatic species as an input for another. Integrated seawater farming consists of brackish or saltwater aquaculture and utilizes the waste streams for farming halotolerant crops and algae. Aquaponics is the integration of recirculating aquaculture production with hydroponic plant production. These types of farming systems have the potential to produce food and energy without infringing on freshwater resources and to reduce the environmental impacts associated with farming (eutrophication and resource demand).

Fish Farmacy specializes in the sustainable integrated farming of food and bio-energy crops providing consultation in the feasibility analysis, design and construction, management and execution of these systems. We design water filtration systems and provide the recipes and nutrient supplements needed for a fully integrated system. Aquaculture feed formulations, nutrient formulations for fertilizing plants and/or algae crops, and organic supplements are tailored to meet the nutritional needs of the target crops.
